If strength were all, tiger would not fear scorpion.

Basic concepts:

The central idea of pressure point theory is that the points are found through out the body, lying on imaginerary lines called meridians. These points are where sensations, such as pain, enter the body more easily.

Each meridian is governed by an assigned element: wood, metal, water, fire, or earth. Each is also controlled by a polarity, either Yin or Yang; therefore, each point has both an elemental and polar component.

Meridians are how ki or chi flows through the body. Each meridian controls an internal organ and is thus named for that organ. There are 14 basic meridians, but with time and study much more in depth information can be explored.

14 Basic Meridians:

1. Stomach

2 . Spleen

3 . Gall Bladder

4 . Liver

5 . Urinary Bladder

6 . Kidney

7 . Heart

8 . Small Intestine

9 . Lung

10 . Large Intestine

11 . Peracardium

12 . Triple Warmer

13 . Govener

14 . Conception

Each point must be struck with the proper angle and pressure to work effectively in attaining the desired results. The cycle of destruction is used to set the points into motion.

There are also polarity knock outs and what "look" like single point knock outs.

These secret techniques are all contained in the hyung or kata that we study.

This is a simple explanation of pressure points. If you want a deeper understanding you will just have to take the class.
